SUMMARY:Questioning Impact of Business Education
DESCRIPTION:We invite you to join us in a stimulating in-person co-inquiry\, exploring the impact of business education and its implications at the Centre for Sustainable Business\, University of Chichester in association with the Humanistic Management Network UK Chapter\, and Humanists in Business on\nFriday 9 February 2024. \nDrawing upon Open Space principles we will: \n\nProvide an opportunity to discuss and debate issues of common and emerging interest concerning impact in business education and to develop agendas for action\nIntroduce and celebrate the work in this regard of the Chichester Centre for Sustainable Business\, the Humanistic Management Network UK Chapter\, and Humanists in Business.\n\nOpen Space gatherings have been described as a kind of extended coffee break\, during which fruitful conversations with a purpose are generated by their participants. Following a welcome and introduction we will have several small group discussions to identify challenges and opportunities in engendering impact in business education. In Round A\, there will be a choice of topics (see the pro-visional list below) offered by chapter authors of the book ‘The Impact of a Regional Business School on its Communities – A Holistic Perspective’ (MacKenzie and Warwick\, Eds\, in press). Stimulated by the feedback session that follows\, Round B will then consist of conversations generated by themes arising from the floor. After a final closing session\, participants have the option to linger and mix further in the nearby Students Union\, and leave buzzing with ideas for initiatives to pursue from their particular perspectives.\nInitial choice of topics might include: \n\nCross-cultural issues of impact\nThe impact of and on local ecosystems and communities\nThe nature of regional economies\nImplementing research within resource constraints\nFostering local writing and research cultures\nHosting Apprenticeship degrees\nManagement Education\nLeadership development\nAddressing equality\, diversity and inclusivity\nCollaborative Partnerships\nWhat good do we do?\nWorking at the interface of business school cultures: the neo-liberal and the commons.\n\n  \nParticipation is free; please reserve a place by 26th January on Eventbrite \nRegistration on Eventbrite\n  \nPlease view the event flyer for further information \nQuestioning Impact of Business Education
