About the Humanistic Management Network India Chapter
Let´s remove the words “Human resources” from the organizational common vocabulary. Human beings are not mere resources. Human beings are not a Capital. Human beings are not the means but an end in themselves.
The Humanistic Management Network (HMN) India Chapter was announced formally on 2nd October 2018 during concluding session of the 6th Annual Humanistic Management Conference at Bangalore. Guided by the vision and philosophy of the parent HMN Global Network, Geneva.
The Business/Management Profession is often seen as being all about Quantitative Matrices, Market Orientation and Economic Value. However, Ongoing Business Success can be strongly promoted by the adaptation of a Humanistic Management Philosophy viz.,
• Business with Human Dignity
• Focus on Human Capital not just Machines
• Unconditional Dignity of life
• Ethical considerations in business decisions
• Corporate responsibility towards stakeholders
India Chapter, HMN assures to create synergy for desired humanistic development and growth through humanistic leadership. Invite Institutions, Business & Industry, HR leaders to join our efforts towards strengthening the cause of humanism together both at Institutional and Individual level.
Holistic Transformational change in Institution & Industry is possible with human factors and connectedness as the Institution is human centric. The raw material, finished products, the faculty, the change agents of knowledge are human beings with strong intellectual and emotional traits. The transformational leadership can be best achieved through human connectedness and emotional intelligence.
Social and emotional intelligence expresses our values in terms of how Human centric decisions also impact business success.
Leadership through human science and as behavioural strategists
There is also fear among noble people of inhuman behaviour of people which is increasing. People do not leave companies or institutions, but leave due to bad bosses and their negative behaviours. The leader should ensure positive personality dimensions in moral, ethical, emotional, behavioural, social and cultural moulding.
Spiritual Leadership: The science of spirituality in India is evolved with ancient Indian wisdom/literature, and has a direct interface with human science with the following:
• Development of competence to live
• Define the human conduct
• Strong social and fraternity connectivity
• Strong connectivity with family and friends
• Emotional connectivity with family and friends
• Positive Professional behaviour
• Positive Social behaviour
The Indian Government has placed an Act to regulate “Right to Disconnect” aiming to give working class the legal right to say NO to work calls, emails and message after office hours. The aim of the Act is:
• To end digital burnout
• To protect mental health
• To restore real work life balance.
This could be one of the India’s most employee friendly reform. This will ensure the white-collar work force and IT professionals to work with dignity, human respect which are in tune of the philosophy of HMN.
